2006 ADGA National Champion and Reserve Best Udder

What can we say about Cori? She is a long, deep, powerful doe that has a lovely udder and a tremendous will to milk. Cori is our first Champion, our first BOB Nubian, our first Nubian star milker, our first Best in Show, our first Excellent 90, and our first doe to be awarded the title of Miss Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Dairy Goat Association. She has also been awarded two Certificates of Excellence and a Supreme Achievement Award from the PDGA. She won 5 BOB and 5 BDIS awards in 2006. We were stunned when she won the aged doe class at the 2006 Nationals and was selected as National Champion with Reserve Best Udder.  In 2008, at 11 years of age, Cori again made the trip to Nationals where she placed 2nd (with 2nd udder) in a VERY competitive aged doe class.   Cori was also part of our  8th place Best 3 Senior Does and our 6th place Dairy Herd.   She is a once in a life-time goat and proudly holds the title of herd queen.

***NEWS FLASH*** At almost 13 years old, Cori freshened with twin does in February of 2010.  Both does, sired by Jacobs-Pride Arizona Excelence, will be retained. Cori is doing great and milking well for an aged doe!

Added to the herd in 2005, Madelyn has one of the most beautiful udders I have seen on a Nubian. Definitely Nationals material! She placed 17th in a very competitive 5&6 year old class at the 2006 Nationals and was a member of our 3rd place dairy herd.   Madelyn won her 1st BDIS award at the 2008 PDGA Big Weekend.  At the 2008 Nationals, Madelyn placed 3rd (with 3rd udder) in a VERY competitive aged doe class and was part of our 6th place Dairy Herd.  Madelyn is the drama queen of the herd and dislikes traveling, so her picture doesn't really do her justice. As a paternal ½ sister to Cori, we feel Madelyn is still in the early years of her show career!!  Madelyn has just been waiting for her time to shine!  At 8 years of age her udder is still high and wide with wonderful attachment!

Madelyn kidded in late March with a lovely set of twins, 1 buck and 1 doe.  We will be retaining her buck kid, Marshall, as our junior herdsire!

***NEWS FLASH***  So far in 2009, Madelyn has been 6 times BOB out of 9 times shown!

A sweet annoyance, Reese has definitely earned her spot in our herd. At the 2006 Nationals, she placed 8th in the 3 year old class. She was also a member of our 3rd place dairy herd. She is a long, tall, correct doe with tremendous width. She has the widest, flattest rump in the herd. Her udder is high and wide in the rear, smoothly blended in the fore. We would like to see her teats placed more centrally on the udder floor. In 2007 she was several times BOB and won her first BDIS under Jean Lucas.  At the 2008 Nationals, a slightly lame Reese still managed to place 4th in the 5 and 6 year old class!   She was also part of our 9th place Dam & Daughter, our 8th place Best 3 Senior Does, and our 6th place Dairy Herd.

***NEWS FLASH***  Reese kidded with twins (1 buck/1doe) sired by Crown Point ZDG Tiger Paws!!  Tiger Paws is a Dandy-Lion son out of the 3 time National Champion, Soncare Gabriel.  We plan on retaining the doe kid, however, the buck kid may be offered for sale later this spring.

Kip is just as lovely as her ½ sister,  Reese.  She showed well as a first freshening 2yr old, but did not place in her class at the 2006 Nationals.  She was still a member of our 3rd place dairy herd.  In 2007, Kip matured and easily earned her SGCH.  Unfortunately, she developed a very serious and life-threatening case of mastitis in the fall of 2007.  She freshened in the spring of 2008 with some significant scarring in her udder, particularly in the teat canal.  We have spent the last year working hard to resolve the issue with her udder.  She freshened with a lovely set of triplets in March.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the one side of her udder is unsalvageable thus putting an end to what should have been a promising show career.  Her daughters are showing extremely well in other herds, so one of her 2009 doe kids, Kricket, will remain with us.  Her buck kid, Kryptonite, will be working as a herd sire in Maryland.

Pictured as a dry yearling, updated pic coming soon!

A quadruplet, Rende is a smaller doe but very correct. I picked her out as a “keeper” at 1 week of age. She wasn’t the most eye-catching of the 4 kids, but something has always struck me about her. She’s high and wide in the escutcheon with good dairy character and body capacity.  She earned her dry leg in 2008.

In 2009, Rende kidded early with premature twins.  She doesn't have the capacity in the mammary due to the early kidding, but we are pleased with the overall height of of the rear udder and shape of the udder.  She will need some time to develop the mammary capacity that she will need to be competitive in the show ring.  While her milk production was disappointing this year, I am pleased with the overall shape of mammary and smoothly blended fore.

Kori-Brook Ransom Dublin

DOB: 3/17/07
YSA 1-05 Ec (EcEcEc)

Dublin has caught our eye from an early age. We weren’t planning on keeping a doe from this breeding, but there was always something striking about Dubby. When we did take her to a few shows as a kid, she did extremely well - even topping her class a few times.   In 2008, she was undefeated in the senior yearling class and won several BJDIS awards.  We love the rump on this doe and hope for her to take after her granddam, Reese.

Dublin freshened with triplets and a lovely udder, high in the rear and great capacity as a first freshener.  Unfortunately, she developed coliform mastitis on the right side.  Luckily, she pulled through and I am hopeful that the affected side will return to normal next year.

Kori-Brook Wild Romance

DOB: 4/20/07
red/black trim/white cap, ears, splash on side

Pictured is Romance's
Maternal 1/2 sister, Rian

Romance was sold as a yearling in a desperate attempt to keep the herd numbers in check.  Due to a bounced check, Romance (along with Remorse and 2 other does) was returned to the herd in 2009.  Sadly, Romance came home quite underweight/undernourished, with severely overgrown hooves, and foot rot.  Luckily, all her bloodwork (CAE/CL/Brucellosis) was negative and we are happy to add a Reese daughter back into the herd. Romance has adjusted well, gained weight, and has been confirmed bred to her 1/2 brother Ransom.

Romance has never freshened so she will be a first freshening 3yr old in 2010.  We are anxious to see her fresh and hope for her to fill the hole left by the loss of her sister, Rian.  Romance's littermate brother, Wild Romeo, is working as a herd sire in New York.  Romance has been confirmed bred to her maternal brother, Ransom.

Pictured is Remorse's dam,
GCH Kori-Brook WRG Rian 5*M

Remorse is a quadruplet out of Rian's first kidding as a yearling!  Somehow, tiny little Remorse survived as did 1 sister.  Remorse was sold in 2008, but due to a bounced check (and her mother's death) she was returned to the herd in 2009.  Remorse returned underweight/undernourished, hooves overgrown, and with foot rot -- BUT all her important tests (CAE/CL/Brucellosis) were negative.

Rian's death in the spring of 2009 left a devastating hole in the herd and in my heart.  She had such a promising show career ahead of her.  It was a joy and an honor to have such a beautiful doe in the herd.  Sadly, Remorse's sire, Cairo, also died tragically at just 1 year of age.  In fact, Remorse is the only surviving Cairo daughter.

I have high hopes for Remorse -- fate has brought her back to me and I am thankful for that.  Fingers crossed for her first freshening as a 3 yr old.  Remorse freshened with twins, sired by Marshall.  She has a lovely udder, very similar to her granddam, Cori!

Libby has been a standout since the day she was born.  We love the style, width and elegance of this doe kid.  She reminds us so much of her granddam, Reese.  Libby was originally slated to leave the herd, but she made it to the keep list when her dam was sold.  Libby easily earned her dry leg at the 2008 PDGA Big Weekend.

Libby kidded on her own with 2 good sized doe kids, both have been sold.  She has a very globular shaped udder with good extension of the fore.  She is a tall, long dairy doe much like her dam, Mercury, and granddam, Reese.

Libby kidded with twin bucks, sired by Starfire's KMSO Smooth Argo.  Both are available.

As what may be the last Cori daughter,  SoCo has quickly become a herd favorite - taking her rightful place as Princess in the herd.  She is not the longest or most dairy doe kid in the herd, but when your mama is a National Champion you get a free pass to stay until freshening!!!  We feel that SoCo just needs time to mature.

SoCo freshened with a set of twin does and has a very nicely attached mammary, very similar to her dam but with more medial.  Her teats are on the outer half of the udder floor as is typical of the Tigger daughters.  SoCo just needs time to mature and develop.

A beautiful doe kid, I picked Raisin out the day she was born! Her coloring is striking, her personality is amazing, and her conformation is gorgeous. Her sister, Razzle Dazzle Me, was consigned and sold at the 2008 Colorama Sale to Sue Smart of Fancy Color Nubians.  We were delighted for our little American herd to be recognized at a National sale and even more delighted that our precious Razzle went to such a wonderful home, where American Nubians are treasured! Razzle placed 16th and Raisin placed 21st in a large class of Intermediates at the 2008 Nationals.

Raisin has freshened with triplets sired by Marshall.  She has developed and matured well over the winter and we are excited for the 2010 show season!

Rian is our youngest rising star!  She’s one of our first AI kids and we were anxious to see how Soncare Gabriel’s line crossed with ours. We were not disappointed!  Rian shocked us when she freshened with quadruplets as a yearling!  While it took her some time to bounce back into show condition, we were still pleased with her dairyness and mammary system.  She easily finished her Championship in 2008 becoming a 5th generation permanent Champion!!  Her full brother Ransom is producing some lovely kids for us as well!!  At the 2008 Nationals, Rian was 14th in a lar ge 2yr old class.  She was also part of our 9th place Dam & Daughter, our 8th place Best 3 Senior Does, and our 6th place Dairy Herd.

Rian freshened with a lovely set of twins, 1 buck and 1 doe, sired by Southern Classic.  The buck kid, Kori-Brook Classic Request, will be going to work in Marge Thornton's herd in New York while the doe kid, Ripple Effect, will be retained.

Sadly, we lost Rian this spring -- she just never bounced back after kidding and I made the difficult decision to let her go.  Her death leaves a devastating hole in the herd and in my heart.  She had such a promising show career ahead of her.  It was a joy and an honor to have such a beautiful doe in the herd.  She is greatly missed.
